Our plot of Grand Cru Schoenenbourg planted in 1997 provides its first grapes for the great appellation in 2015. Exposed on the south-eastern slope of the hill of the Schoenenbourg our vines are at 280 m of altitude with a slight slope. On a limestone soil that retains the waters, we create a riesling of great aromatic complexity. In the vineyard there is a total natural grass; We realize a Guyot size double pushing by leaving 5 eyes per vine shoot. Harvesting is done exclusively by a regional team.
The wines from the Schoenenbourg develop large Riesling guards, powerful and rich.
With a warm winter, a rainy spring and a dry summer, 2016 gave us a hard time. Thanks to the rains of October, the vines were able to reach the desired maturity. The desired quality is at the rendezvous.
The grapes were pressed with a pneumatic membrane press and then fermentation was carried out at a low temperature, that is to say at 18-20 ° Celsius. After fermentation, the wine was raised on lees for 3 months. Bottled April 2017.
To be served between 10 and 12 ° C.
