The grapes come from two clay-limestone plots. They are oriented full South and thus benefit from a complete sunshine.
Harvesting is done exclusively by a regional team.
L’Etreinte means an embrace, a caress. It represents much more. Like two bodies that intertwine, one finds of the passion, the tenderness and the sensuality. But it also brings out fire, heat and power. Pinot Noir L'Etreinte 2014, by its sensorial qualities, highlights the passion of a winegrower for this delicate grape variety and demonstrates the great potential of Pinot Noir d'Alsace.
With a dry spring, good summer conditions, the vintage 2014 saw the emergence throughout the Alsatian vineyard of a new insect pest from Asia, the Drosophila Suzukii which amputated a large part of our crop without quality.
The grapes are harvested by hand. On arriving at the cellar, it is first scratched before undergoing a fermentation maceration of 10 days with a daily winding. After the maceration, a delicate pressing of the marc is carried out using a pneumatic membrane press. Malolactic fermentation follows in a stainless steel vat. Bottled in April 2015.
The color is red with shades of purple. On the nose, you will discover red fruit smells such as strawberry and black cherry. On the palate, the aroma of red fruits and a fine acidity open the attack. In the middle of the mouth, the supple and numerous tannins support the wine. The final in the mouth is held by body, power and roasted notes (chocolate, coffee).
To be served between 10 and 12 ° C.
Wine & Food
Wine to consum with white meat in sauce or roasts. It also marries very well with a duck breast. The Pinot Noir l’Etreinte 2014 is a faithful companion of the red meats.
