Vine

The place called Burgreben, meaning vineyards of the castle, is situated on both loamy, sandy and clayey soil, facing south-east.

In the vineyard, there is a total natural grassing. A Guyot double poussard pruning is made, leaving 5 buds per branch.

Harvesting is done exclusively by hand.

For this wine we have a yield of 50 hectoliters per hectare.

Vintage

The Alsatian vineyard came close to apoplexy in early August because of a considerable lack water. But thanks to the exceptional health status the harvest 2015 will remain in the memories. 

Wine making

The grapes were pressed with a pneumatic membrane press and then fermented at low temperature at 18-20 ° Celsius. After fermentation, the wine was raised on lees for 3 months. Bottled in April 2016.

Tasting

Aromas of exotic fruits like passion and candied pineapple or Litchi which develop harmoniously in mouth.

To be served between 10 and 12 ° C.

This Gewurztraminer combines very well with spicy Asian dishes, strong cheeses. It is ideal as an aperitif or on desserts made with dark chocolate.
